HISTORY
Like all histories, the history of Sudan is controversial
and unsettled. Sudan has undergone multiple colonisations from
the Turks, the Egyptians and the British and more recently many
coups d'etat. This page provides a forum to share research about
the history that has led to the formation and growth of the
Sudanese Diaspora.
Wars in Sudan (website)
|
GlobalSecurity.org provides information about conflicts around the world. The section on Sudan provides useful summaries of the North-South civil wars and the conflict in Darfur. Background information on the main opposition groups in Sudan provides an historical context for some of the recent conflicts in the east and west. There are valuable links to sites with cultural and historical information on groups such as the Beja, as well as photographs and satellite imagery of Darfur. |
